History

Larry Carpenter began Christian Book Services in 2010 after a 23-year career in the publishing industry, beginning at Ingram Book Company as Sr. VP of Sales and Marketing.  After Ingram purchased Spring Arbor, the nation's largest Christian products wholesale distributor, he was promoted to President and CEO of Ingram's Christian book division.

Mr. Carpenter started his first company, FaithWorks, in 1999, which was the first full-service distributor of Christian products. After selling the company to Send the Light (STL), he became VP of Marketing for Non-Fiction Books for Thomas Nelson Publishing in 2007. In 2008, he was hired as President and Publisher at Standard Publishing, the sixth largest Christian publisher at the time.

Finally in 2010, after guiding Standard Publishing Company to the position of the fourth largest Children's Christian publisher in America, he stepped down to begin his work with Christian Books Services. In 2014, Clovercroft Publishing was born to cater to secular books such as business, self-help, biographies, and children's books. In that same year, Mr. Carpenter set up a working relationship with Ingram Content Group for the distribution of books.

One of the key strategic partners used by Clovercroft Publishing is Ingram Content Group. Ingram provides all the “back room” fulfillment services for our clients’ products. In addition, we utilize Ingram’s sales force to sell into the large retail chains, mass merchants, internet retailers, catalogers and wholesale distributors. Ingram Content Group is used heavily throughout the USA as a major distributor for independent bookstores and libraries which numbers over 71,000 worldwide. Ingram has warehouses in Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Indiana. They also operate a print on demand business under the Lightning Source brand with facilities in Tennessee, Pennsylvania, United Kingdom, France and Australia. The company also provides full-service distribution including sales and marketing services via its Ingram Publisher Services division.

We are looking for manuscripts that are captivating and candid, and authors who want to tell their story on their own terms.
